WHAT IS HACKING 4 OCEANS?

Hacking for Oceans (H4O) is a university program that brings interdisciplinary students together to apply entrepreneurial approaches to rapidly understand, solve, and deploy solutions to urgent problems facing our oceans and coasts in partnership with local, state, federal agencies, and NGO’s.

Our Objectives

Course Overview

This semester-long course features several objectives for students to refine and master.

  • Problem-Based:
  • Tackle real-world, complex problems critical to saving our oceans and the environment.
  • Applied: 
  • Apply entrepreneurial methods and tools to solve industry-identified problems.
  • Innovative:
  • Gain marketable skills through a flipped-classroom approach and learn Lean LaunchPad principles.
